State and Federal Trial and Appellate Litigation in Connecticut courts; Trial Consultation; Insurance Law; Professional Grievances.
Attorney Dowd divides her practice between trial litigation and
appellate work. She handles matters in the Connecticut state and
federal courts. Her trial matters range from personal injury
to product liability and professional grievances. Her appeals are just as
varied, from land use to domestic relations. She also consults with trial lawyers in personal injury, family and medical malpractrice matters on legal issues.
In addition to her litigation practice, Attorney Dowd is involved in the legal community. She served as the Chair of the Connecticut Bar
Association Litigation Section from 2005 to 2007 after serving as an officer for the prior 4 years. She is a member of the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association. She also enjoyed teaching written and oral advocacy as part of the Moot Court interterm at the University of Connecticut School of Law. She served on the faculty of the Connecticut Trial Advocacy Institute. She was appointed by the CBA president to the Judicial Reform task force in 2007. She is a member of the American Counsel Association and the American Bar Association (Litigation Section).
